The Human Awareness Institute (HAI), is an organization based in Northern California which offers participatory workshops on intimacy, sex and love. [1] The primary workshops are a series of eight, each lasting a weekend, which are taken in a linear sequence. The workshops are given worldwide,[2][3][4][5][6] but the central location for its workshops is at Harbin Hot Springs, California.
Founder Stan Dale began teaching workshops in Chicago in 1968. He moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1972, and incorporated HAI in 1986. In 2005, performance artist and sex educator Annie Sprinkle singled out HAI for offering workshops which integrate communications exercises into the exploration of relationships and sexuality. [7]
